Where is Kasawari’s location?
Kasawari Lembeh Resort is located near the seaport town of Bitung which is a 90 minutes drive from Manado, the capital city of North Sulawesi. North Sulawesi, with its predominantly Christian population, is on the northwestern side of Indonesia, close to the Philippines and bordered by the Celebes Sea.

Is there laundry service at Kasawari?
Our housekeeping staff will be happy to do your laundry for you at a reasonable cost.

Are communication systems good at Kasawari?
We have recently installed a mobile phone signal repeater station so the signal is good even inside the villas. Most of the areas, including all the villas, within the resort are also within a Wi-Fi zone for internet connection.

Is there any babysitting service?
With prior notice we can arrange for a babysitter.

Is there any spa or massage service?
We offer an after-dive massage service, which you can enjoy either in the privacy of your villa or at the massage pavilion.

Are there any excursions/tour programs?
Full day excursions with local guides to the Minahasa Highlands - a combination of a scenic and historic tour to Tangkoko National Park for a chance to see rare animals such as the crested black macaque, hornbills and the world’s smallest primate (the Tarsius spectrum) - are available. There is also a 3-hour trip to the local fish market and Bitung town. Trekking and rafting trips can also be arranged upon request.

Do you serve any alcoholic beverages?
We have a small selection of wine, cocktails, spirits and local beer at the bar. There is no corkage charge if you bring your own favorite drink.

Do you accept credit card payment?
We accept Mastercard and Visa.

Do you accept travelers’ cheques?
Sorry, we cannot accept any travelers’ cheques.

Do you accept foreign currency?
We can accept US Dollars, Japanese Yen, Singapore Dollars and Thai Baht, but it is advisable to make payment by credit card or local currency due to uncertainty of and discounted cash exchange rates.

What is the difference between the Kasawari villas and your deluxe villas?
Kasawari Villas are located on the seafront. The bedroom and bathroom totaling 45 sqm are substantially larger than the Deluxe Villa. The villas also have more amenities, large decks and gazebos over-looking the beach and Lembeh Strait. The Deluxe Villas, each a total of 32 sqm and has its own wooden deck, are located within the lush tropical landscape yet still have a view of the Strait. Both types of villas have outdoor showers within walled gardens.
All villas are less than one minute leisurely stroll from all facilities.

What are the facilities and amenities in the villas?
All villas have individual climate control, ceiling fan, hot and cold freshwater, mini-bar, coffee/tea making station, hairdryer, shampoo and liquid soap, bath robes, daily complimentary drinking water, Wi-Fi internet connection and plenty of storage space.

Traveling Information:

Which is the nearest international airport of entry?
Manado Airport (MDC). It is serviced by SilkAir ( a subsidiary of Singapore Airline) from Singapore five times a week. The flight time is approximately three hours.

Can Manado be accessed from other Indonesian cities?
There are daily flights via local carriers from Bali and Jakarta to Manado.

Do I need a visa to enter Indonesia?
Most nationalities will need a visa to enter Indonesia. Please check with the nearest Indonesian Embassy or Consulate. Many nationalities, including US citizens, can apply for visa on arrival. ASEAN citizens do not need a visa to enter Indonesia as a tourist. Please make sure you have at least two empty pages for visa stamp in your passport and the passport is valid for more than 6 months on the date of your arrival in Indonesia.

What is the duty-free allowance for tourists entering Indonesia?
Each traveler can bring in one carton of cigarettes or a reasonable quantity of tobacco/cigars and a bottle of wine or spirit. Customs officials are very strict on this allowance.

Are there any airport taxes and fees?
The international departure tax at MDC is Rupiah 100,000 which must be paid in local currency only.

Can I get porter help at the airport?
Yes. At the Baggage Claim Area porters are available. Expect to pay them Rupiah 10,000 per piece of luggage. There is no luggage trolley available. It is only a few meters from the Baggage Claim Area to the meeting point where our staff awaits your arrival.

How long is the transfer from Manado Airport to Kasawari?
Depending on traffic conditions the transfer takes approximately 90 minutes.

Can I change currency at the resort?
No. We do not offer any foreign currency exchange service. The last place you can change currency is at Manado Airport.

Where can I exchange currency?
It is difficult to exchange currency in Indonesia. Banks and money changers are very particular about the condition of notes, serial numbers, etc. It is best to exchange your cash at Singapore Airport.

Diving Information:

Is there any “best” time for diving in the Lembeh Strait?
You can enjoy diving in the Lembeh Strait all year round. The Strait is protected by the Northern tip of North Sulawesi Island and the 10-km long Lembeh Island, providing good conditions for diving 12 months of the year. From December to April there may be relatively more rainfall but there is no ‘monsoon’ season in the Lembeh area.

What is the average water temperature in Lembeh?
26 to 28 degree Celsius (78F to 82F). Water temperature is usually cooler from July to September.

What kind of wetsuit should I wear?
We recommend at least a 3mm full suit with hood. A 5mm suit will keep you warmer as dive duration can be long.

Is there any shore diving at Kasawari?
Shore diving can be done from Kasawari’s purpose-built jetty.

Is Nitrox available?
Nitrox EAN 32 from our membrane system is available to qualified divers as an extra option. Please see details in the prices section.

Is there any equipment rental at your Dive Center?
We have Oceanic dive equipment and Cochran Dive Computers available for rent. Please advise us of your requirement in advance. There is no camera rental.

Can I take diving certification courses at Kasawari?
No. At Kasawari we emphasize only great diving services for certified divers. We do not offer diving courses.

Can I do any “out-of-hours” diving?
Usual dive time is between 7:30 am and 7:30 pm. Any diving out of these hours will need to be arranged with the dive center and will be subject to additional charges.

Must I always dive with a guide?
It is advisable to dive with our guides as the critters of Lembeh Strait are well camouflaged. Our experienced guides, who are familiar with the habitat and behaviors of the marine life, will help you find these elusive critters.
